These are the words of Garry Landreth, a specialist in children’s mental health. The first 5 years of a child’s life is a time for rapid brain development. Early years workers play a vital role at this stage. Introducing a young child to sensory play encourages learning, having fun and group participation. Deirdre will take you on an experiential journey from sensory to science and explore all our 8 senses and explain why stimulating experiences such as sensory play can boost brain development and lay down the foundations for learning.
